AREA INFORMATION
The hotel is situated near the Cihelná (Pražská) gate, which is an entrance to the Vyšehrad castle complex, the oldest landmark in Prague. Vyšehrad is a monument to the past, a reminder of the glory as well as the failings of the Bohemian Kingdom. However, it is also a peaceful green oasis on the very edge of the historical centre with a breathtaking view over Prague. A place of myth and legends is the Vysehrad cemetery with its enormous and decorative tombs and monuments. More than 600 prominent Czechs are buried next to the St Peter and Paul Cathedral, the second cathedral of Prague, which dominates Vysehrad Park by day and at night. Other monuments in the park include underground passageways which house the original Baroque statues from the Charles Bridge. An art gallery, promenades, cafes, and large open spaces make Vysehrad Park an ideal place for a day out.
